The inspiration for nummies® came from my husband, an engineer & athlete, who constantly suffers sore muscles from running. 
I came up with the name nummies® simply by putting the heated wrap around my neck & instantly saying "oh, this feels nummie". 
With help from massage therapists & homeopathic professionals, the design & sizes were conceived & have continually evolved.
nummies® were created shortly after being laid off from H/P . Agilent Technologies in 2001. 
Selling at craft shows gave a good foundation to see if nummies® would sell.
